Order of Voices Debut CD

I recently received the debut CD from OrderOfVoices, compliments of OoV. For those unfamiliar with OoV, like I was, they recently formed last year "to create some of the most ambitious music produced... in the last ten years" as their biography states!

The vocals are provided by Leigh Oates, who weaves gentle rhythmic phrasings with hard core metal angst driven style tones.

The guitar work ranges from smooth melodic rock to a sound that is much heavier with metal like intensity.

‘Reaching Down’ has been the most promoted song on the album and it has a certain nineties grunge feel to it that reminds of Candlebox. The song starts out slow, intensifying until it reaches a powerful and dramatic climax.

The rest of the album follows in a similar style, often with dramatic twists from subtle to dynamic with passionate vocal harmonies intertwined.

In summary, this album is powerful, melodic and Kicks ASS! A welcome change to the music of today and I look forward to hearing more from this band.
